Dear Gwen,

I love the freshness of spring. I am not sure if is due to the change in weather or the fact that I am a spring baby. Either way, it is probably my favorite time of year. And spring has sprung around my house, so I have decided to have a spring cleaning sale. The discounts are deep and the quantities are limited. You can read more about it below. For freshness, we have continued to update the new website with suggestions provided by our readers. Hopefully you will find the changes to be helpful improvements. We are also adding and enhancing our resources for teachers, so read on for more information.

I don't know what is happening in your neck of the woods, but here in the San Joaquin Valley in central California, Spring has definitely arrived. All the fruit and nut trees are blossoming, the daffodils are almost done and the irises are about to start. The weather has turned very warm and I do not know how many more days of skiing are left. And with the coming of the new season is the need to spring clean.

As an incentive to help us clean out some of our discontinued items, we are offering an ADDITIONAL 50% off the currently marked sale price. This includes yarns, buttons, needle tubes, yarn cutters and nylon webbing. We are also offering our remaining stock of needles at 50% the currently listed retail price.

To take advantage of this fantastic sale, just enter SPRING07 into the box above the "Redeem Coupon" button and click the button. Remember that supplies are limited to stock on hand and unfortunately our shopping cart is not connected to our inventory control program. Please make sure to refresh your page prior to placing an order.

The Sample Stitch Kimono has reached 67 participants as of the sending of this newsletter but I want MORE! I am enjoying the interaction so much, I am getting greedy for more participants, but not without some generosity on my part. The 75th person to sign up for the SSK will receive a $75 Knitability credit toward the product (including special order yarns) of their choosing. And if you are listed as the referral in the comments section, you will receive a $25 Knitability credit.

You will see on the web page that I have added the anticipated schedule for techniques to be covered each month. In addition to the basic technique, I often cover other supporting skills or techniques. As we enter travel season, I want to remind you that this is a fabulous travel project. In fact, the majority of my sample was completed while traveling.

It is not too late to join in the fun (and now there is an additional incentive). With only one panel a month, there is still time to get started and be a part of the experience. And even if the project isn't for you, please visit our blog often and see how others are progressing.

As we enter our 6th year in business and continue to refine our focus of "Taking Knitters to the Next Level", we are continuing to develop new resources for both teachers and students alike. The listing of classes being offered by teachers around the country can be a wonderful source for students, but only if you add your class information.

If you are a teacher, we encourage you to list your classes AT NO CHARGE. In exchange, at the beginning of each quarter (April 1 starts the next quarter) we will randomly pick one entry of the classes offered in the next 3 months. The contact listed will receive a $25 Knitability gift certificate. So whether you are an independent teacher, part of a yarn shop or offering classes at a convention, you are invited to add your classes and be entered for the drawing.
All About Entrelac...it is just a working title, but at least it is a start. I have had people ask me to write a book on entrelac for years. And it is one of the few books that I am actually interested in trying to put together. Recently I came across a pair of gals called the Blog Squad. How I found them is a bit convoluted, but needless to say, I have started following them. Their primary service is geared toward business professionals wanting to take their blog to the next level. One of the ways to do this is to write your "next" book via a blog.

So for the next few weeks, and most likely months, the Knitting Professor is going to be focusing on entrelac. At least until I move it to a different site or give up on the idea. Now even if you are not particularly interested in entrelac, many of the skills can be applied to other areas of your knitting.

So Spring is upon us and it is time to start wandering out doors, but don't forget to take your knitting along!

Sincerely,
