The Sample Stitch Kimono is under way
with nearly 50 participants as of the sending of this
newsletter. I have been busy since the last
newsletter knitting during all my various travels to
get my sample complete. And the project makes for
excellent travel knitting. As you can see -- it is
done.
My Kimono is short waisted because I prefer that
style, but the directions allow each knitter to
customize the project based on their preferences.
When I wear it around other knitters, the
compliments are unending!
It is not too late to join in the fun. With only one
panel a month, there is still time to get started and
be a part of the experience. And even if the project
isn't for you, please visit
our blog often and see how others are
progressing.

"Knitting is a bottomless discipline" -- This is a
paraphrased quote from Elizabeth Zimmermann. And
for what it is worth, I think she is right. There is
always something new to learn and that is one of the
things I love about knitting. It is also why I believe
so strongly in our motto: "Taking Knitters to the Next
Level".
As part of our ongoing effort to support our motto,
Knitability is continually developing resources for
knitters all around the country...and we need
your help!
The first resource is a listing of get togethers of knitters
(and others) that meet on a regular basis. If you
know of a group that can be added, please e-mail me
at the address below with the pertinent information.
The second resource is new for Knitability, a listing of classes being offered by
teachers around the country. If you are a teacher,
we encourage you to list your classes AT NO CHARGE.

Seams -- a word that generates fear in some
knitters, even to the point of trying to avoid them at
all costs. Having recently completed the Sample
Stitch Kimono, I had the opportunity to spend a
great deal of time not only thinking about, but in fact
creating seams.
Now it would be a lie to say that enjoy seaming, but
I do get a great deal of satisfaction having
completed a seam that is done particularly well. And
although there are many classes on finishing, it is a
topic that I believe the more options you are aware
of, the better chance of having a finished product
you are happy with!

As you look through the new site, please note that old links will not work in most cases. You may need to refresh your browser if something doesn't seem quite right. Please share this newsletter with all your knitting friends and we hope you all have a happy, healthy and productive new year.
Sincerely,
