Ready to learn to purl and create interesting stitch patterns?  This fun little eye glass case and purse provide lots of learning opportunities without the major commitment of a large project. 

The eye glass case allows the knitter to begin practicing on a smaller project and begins with several rows of purling to get comfortable with the stitch followed by several simple stitch patterns utilizing a combination of knit and purl stitches. The purse explores more combinations and is knit in a single piece and then folded and seamed to form the purse shape. Key skills include learning to purl, combining knit and purl stitches to create a pattern and basic pattern reading skills.

This is the perfect project for beginning knitters who have just completed their first (or 100th) garter stitch scarf. Once you have learned the knitting basics of both knit and purl, endless knitting opportunities are opened up. If you already are comfortable with the knit stitch, learn the purl stitch and make this cute purse at the same time.
