Skill Builder Pattern

Tempted by the beautiful textures created by those fancy cables but are afraid of the complexity? Learn all about cables while creating this fabulous cable knit bag.

The project begins with simple cable patterns and progresses to more complex styles while working on only one panel at a time. By the time you have completed the bag, you will be ready to tackle other cable projects like Brenna's Vision.

Made with bulky yarn, the oversized cables felt down to a wonderfully textured yet sturdy purse fabric. Directions for either a drawstring or knapsack style closure included.

Skills Required:

  • Basic knitting skills
  • Working in the round including using DPN

  • Creating cables with a cable needle
  • Creating single stitch twists without a cable needle
