Three Techniques for Color

Skill Builder Pattern

Three different techniques for adding color into your knitting. They are often confused, but in fact they are very different. Get a taste of each technique and decide which one is your favorite.

So maybe you have added color to your knitting with stripes, but you want to add patterns. There are many options to accomplish this goal, but these are three of the most common.

Start with mosaic knitting and learn the unique nature of its charts and the simplicity of the knitting. Next move on to intarsia (with a little bit of duplicate stitch thrown in). Finally, try your hand and working with two colors at the same time. Many call this technique Fair Isle, but the more generic term is stranded knitting. Gain some other helpful hints along the way and when complete, you have a nice purse accessory set.
