Description: So often we find a pattern we love and a yarn that we love, but they don't quite go together. An investment in this class and one skein of yarn is all you need to get started. Learn the secrets to substituting yarn for a basic published pattern even when your gauge doesn't quite match. Learn how to calculate yardage, stitch counts and more for your pattern in the new yarn.

Supplies: Homework swatch and calculations, print out of the handout, calculator and pencil or pen.

Homework: 6" x 6" swatch in the yarn and stitch pattern of your choice laundered as you would a garment made from the swatch fabric. Calculate the stitches and rows per inch.
