Spring Entrelac Sweater Pattern

Designed by Gwen Bortner, this sweater was inspired while teaching Entrelac: The Beginning to Endless Possiblities. Since that time, each time she wears it or shares it with a class knitters have clamored for the pattern.

Lake Monterey - Skill Builder

Worked in a single yarn, but utilizing different textural stitches, the result is beautiful but subtle. Raglan sleeves follow the natural line of the entrelac body. Worked in a light weight yarn, it is perfect for warm weather wear, but can also be used as a layering piece.

Skills Required:

  • Familiarity working in the round with Circular Needles
  • Basic familiarity with entrelac

Skills Covered:

  • Combining textured patterns with entrelac
  • Completing smooth transitions between entrelac and other fabrics
  • Working short rows

Supplies / Materials:

  • 1000 (1200, 1375, 1800) yds of fine weight yarn
  • 3.25 mm (US #3) Circular needles (24" or longer)
  • 3 stitch holders
  • Tapestry needle

Finished measurements include:

  • 32”, 38”, 44”, or 50”
